over 20 years with software defined radios (sdrs), and smart antenna systems. he is currently a consultant for systems architectures using sdr. other accomplishments include: 16 years of sigint systems design with communications security establishment cse dod canada. he was responsible for rf, hardware, firmware and software design and implementation for special projects. starting in 1999, mr. fuchs has been the co-chair of the software defined radio forum sdrf mobile working group that developed the sca v1.x software communications architecture and more recently was the co-chair of the re-configurable logic workshop and the smart antenna research working group of the sdrf. he was also a member of the omg software radio sig that is in the final process of approval for the platform independent model pim for international standards corba based software defined radio that may become sca v3.x. in 1998, mr. fuchs joined mercury computer systems, as lead engineer for new product development in the wireless communications group. this group built a successful implementation of mud for wcdma, and investigated other smart antenna technologies. alden was architect/co-designer of several novel products including the first mercury board with an integrated vxworks host, and two different fpga based signal processing boards.
